The Sanctuary will be hosting its third annual solar-powered music festival on Saturday, September 8th. The Local Music Tribal Summit 2012 will feature 11 local bands plus a gaggle of events for guests all ages.
The day will begin with a community music open mic and breakfast from 11 AM to 12:30 noon. Any one interested in being on the list should email the Sanctuary at info@oursanctuary.org. Musical performances will continue through the afternoon into the evening and include Desert Rain Trio, String Band, Mason Lucas, Hannah’s Field, Jen Taylor, Bokum Road, Say What, Womb of the Desert Sun, Cosmos Sunshine, Dizzy River Band as well as a spoken word performance by Sympetalous. The evening will conclude with a dance party with live soul R&B music by the Exit 6 Band.
This celebration of local musical culture offers a distinctively beautiful and meditative space for music to be performed, listened to and enjoyed with focus and heart. In addition to the music, the Summit will feature holistic lifestyles vendors, food, hooping, red tent, drumming, picnicking, and a family-friendly and intergenerational vibe.
All proceeds to benefit the Sanctuary 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Running on donations from events such as the Local Tribal Music Summit, the Sanctuary is chartered as a community resource to promote environmental education, community development and personal transformation.
