Fire Causes Catastrophic Damage To East Haddam Home
A fire overnight caused catastrophic damage to a two-family home in East Haddam.
EAST HADDAM, CT β A fire early Friday morning caused catastrophic damage to an East Haddam home, according to state police. The East Haddam Fire Department responded to 123 Falls Road to a reported structure fire at 2:37 a.m.
Firefighters encountered heavy fire coming from the two-story, two-family home.
Mutual aid fire departments from Colchester, East Hampton, Chester, Haddam, Marlborough, and Lyme responded and worked to extinguish the fire. The blaze was deemed under control at approximately 4:00 a.m.

The home sustained catastrophic damage and is uninhabitable. The sole occupant of the home escaped uninjured.
Personnel from the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester also responded to assist the fire department.

The origin and cause of the fire is being investigated by the East Haddam Fire Marshalβs office with assistance from the Connecticut State Police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit.
