Firefighters Sending T-Shirts to Cheer Up Young Boy

Chris is battling cerebral palsy and firefighters from all over, including Connecticut, are sending him T-shirts for his collection.

Christopher Dumas was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was just over a year old. Sometimes the days and weeks are tough but Chris is tough.

He understands what it means to be a daily fighter. It seems fitting that some of the people he admires the most are also daily fighters.

“Chris is fighting a battle against cerebral palsy and loves firefighters,” Waterford Fire Engine Company No. 1 said via Facebook. “He started a T-shirt collection so we wanted to send him a couple things from the members here.”

His mom started buying him T-shirts from fire departments and fire academies when she saw how much he admired firefighters. That is how the collection was born, the Patriot Ledger reported.

As word spread across social media about Chris, a resident of Quincy, Mass., firefighters began sending T-shirts from all over. Waterford firefighters are proud to have their T-shirt enter Chris’ collection.
