First Selectman Catherine Iino Seeking Third Term in Killingworth

The twice-elected Democrat will face off against Republican challenger Matthew Young in the 2013 elections.

Killingworth's Democratic first selectman, Catherine Iino, is seeking a third term as the town's top elected official.

Killingworth Today reported that the Democratic Town Committee selected Iino as its candidate for the upcoming municipal elections this fall. Iino is joined by Selectman Lou Annino, Jr., who is also seeking reelection 2013, the news site reported.

Iino easily won reelection in 2011, garnering 1,017 votes against a Republican challenger who got 649 votes and an unaffiliated candidate who got 173 votes.

Last week, the Killingworth Republican Town Committee nominated Matthew Young to run for the office of first selectman this year. 

Local Democrats also nominated a slate of other candidates for office this year. The full list is available on Killingworth Today.
