Flatbed Truck Carrying 2 Vehicles Overturns In Crash: Haddam Fire

One person was taken to the hospital with injuries after a multi-vehicle crash on Thursday, according to the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company.

HADDAM, CT — A flatbed truck carrying two vehicles overturned in a crash on Route 9 in Haddam Thursday, injuring one person, according to the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company.

Units were dispatched to Route 9 North between exits 15 and 16 at approximately 1:20 p.m. for a multi-vehicle crash.

A tow truck, which carried one car on a flatbed and another on a wheel lift, collided with another vehicle, the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company said. The truck then veered off the roadway and into the center median where it rolled over.

One person was taken to Hartford Hospital with injuries, and two others refused additional medical treatment on scene, Haddam Fire said.

Two lanes were initially closed, and traffic was diverted to the shoulder while the involved vehicles were removed.

The crash is under investigation by Connecticut State Police.
