Goodspeed Performer to Teach Master Classes at The Dance Corner

Evan Mayer, currently performing in Goodspeed Musicals’ production of The Drowsy Chaperone, will teach two master classes in dance at The Dance Corner of Killingworth in November.

On Sunday, November 11th, The Dance Corner will offer two master classes starting at 10:15am. Musical Theatre Dance, 10:15-11:30am and Tap 11:40am-12:40pm will be taught by Evan Mayer. Mr. Mayer is currently performing at Goodspeed Opera House in The Drowsy Chaperone. Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Evan is a proud graduate of the BFA Musical Theatre program at Indiana University. He was a part of the original cast of Fiddler on the Roof currently running at the National Yiddish Theatre in New York, under the direction of Academy Award winner Joel Grey. Other Broadway National/International Tours: My Fair Lady, A Christmas Story, Annie. Off-Broadway: Babes in Arms, Out of this World. Regional Credits: Guys and Dolls (Rusty Charlie) at Bucks County Playhouse, Thoroughly Modern Millie at Goodspeed Opera House, Cabaret (Max) at Cape Playhouse, A Christmas Story at Fulton Opera House, Ragtime and Mary Poppins at Westchester Broadway Theatre, Fiddler on the Roof (Motel), Les Miserables, and Legally Blonde with Music Theatre Wichita. While in school he spent two years recording and performing with IU’s Grammy-nominated Singing Hoosiers as a featured soloist and dancer, with notable performances in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Evan studied dance at his local studio Danceworks Milwaukee while growing up and currently works with choreographers throughout New York City including Warren Carlyle, Liza Gennaro, Richard Stafford, and Randy Skinner.

The Dance Corner is thrilled to welcome Evan Mayer back to Killingworth. He previously taught master classes at The Dance Corner in June of 2017 while performing at Goodspeed in Thoroughly Modern Millie. All master classes are open to dancers ages 9 and up, with previous dance experience. Master classes will include choreography from The Drowsy Chaperone as well as other productions Mr. Mayer has performed in. The master class fee is $20 per class. Class size is limited. The Dance Corner welcomes students of any age or level to take a free trial dance class. The studio is currently accepting 2018-2019 Fall-Spring session class registrations as well as adult students in 6-week class sessions of Tap and Fusion Fit.
