Haddam Fire Co. Gets New Life Member

Jean Pierre LeQuere is a former chief of the department.

 

Jean Pierre LeQuere, a member of the Haddam Volunteer Fire Co., recently retired from active service and has moved into the ranks of Life Membership. Jean joined the in July of 1976.  He was promoted to the rank of Fireman on July 11, 1977.  

During his 35-plus years as a member of the Fire Company, Jean served on numerous committees and held many leadership positions.  He has served on the Fire Prevention Committee, the Nominating Committee, the Christmas Committee, the Old Timer’s Night Committee and the Water Study Committee.  He has served as a Junior Advisor, the Chairman of several Committees, as the Data Terminal Operator, and the Records Administrator.  At the Department level, he has served on the Board of Directors, as the Vice President, Treasurer, and as President of the Department.

Appointed by the Board of Selectmen, Jean has been a member of the Merit Service Retirement Board that administers the Town’s volunteer emergency service retirement program.

As a Line Officer for the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company, Jean has served as Captain, Assistant Chief and as Chief – and as such is now considered a Past Chief in rank.
