Haddam Firefighters Extinguish Minivan Fire

The fire melted the vinyl siding over the garage.

Members of the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company extinguished a minivan fire Thursday that threatened a multi-family residence on Burr Road in Haddam.

The vehicle was parked in the driveway and the ignition was off at the time.

The fire spread from the vehicle to the front of the house, melting the vinyl siding over the garage. Firefighters used a 1-3/4-inch hose line from Engine 3-13 to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
