East Haddam Firefighters Quickly Knock Down East Haddam Fire

The fire at the Palmer Martin Road home began in the kitchen.

East Haddam Volunteer Fire Company firefighters swiftly knocked down a fire at a raised ranch on Palmer Martin Road in East Haddam Wednesday, Aug. 19.

According to Haddam Fire Chief and East Haddam Fire Captain Sam Baber, the fire originated in the kitchen at around 8 p.m. and quickly swept through the home. The homeowner escaped without injury. The fire is being investigated by the East Haddam Fire Marshal.

East Haddam Fire Department received mutual aid assistance from Haddam, Colchester, East Hampton, Haddam Neck and Lyme. East Haddam Ambulance was on standby.
