Haddam Land Trust Supports Rail Trail
The HLT requests Commissioner Esty's continued support in promoting the conservation and preservation of the state's natural resources, especially water resources such as the Connecticut River.

Dear Commissioner Esty:
The Haddam Land Trust (HLT) is a non-profit corporation organized for the purpose, in part, of promoting the conservation and preservation of lands in Haddam and its surrounding municipalities. The HLT understands that one of the essential purposes of conservation and preservation is to provide recreational opportunities for the public to explore and appreciate our natural and man-made environments. Education is often a critical component of such recreational activities.

Consistent with the HLT’s mission, the HLT supports the efforts and goals of the America’s Great Outdoors to provide more public trails and access points for water-based recreational activities along the Connecticut River, including the possible utilization of a historic railway bed located in the Connecticut Valley Railroad State Park adjacent to the River in the Town of Haddam.
The HLT respectfully requests your continued support in promoting the conservation and preservation of our State’s natural resources, especially water resources such as the Connecticut River.
