Haddam Volunteer Fire Company Tackles Electrical Pole Fire
The Nov. 18 fire occurred on Killingworth Road.

Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded to an electrical pole fire tonight [Nov. 18] on Killingworth Road near the Route 9 on-ramp.
A wire carrying about 13,000 volts snapped and ignited the ground for about an hour while CL&P crews worked to shut off power.

Once the power was off, Haddam firefighters used the booster line off Truck 7-13 to extinguish the smoldering debris, which had potential to be as hot as 2,000 degrees.
