WHO ARE WE AND WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO?
The Higganum Village Farmers’ Market is run by a dedicated volunteer group promoting healthy sustainable food choices and healthy community participation with an appreciation of our local merchants, too.
We pride ourselves on safety first; all vendors must have insurance. All value-added products must be prepared in state-inspected kitchens and use as many Connecticut-grown items as possible. All artisanal crafts must be created by the vendor with an eye towards as many local sources, too. We’re convinced that “local” is the best way to forge a new sustainable economy.
