Haddam and Higganum area police activity reports.

The Haddam Resident Troopers' Office and the Connecticut State Police, Troop F report the following incidents:
FAILURE TO DRIVE IN THE ESTABLISHED LANE - On Sept. 17 at approximately 2:20 a.m., Kenneth Downing 24, of Gould Lane, Branford was traveling along Candlewood Hill Road in the area of Foot Hills Road in Haddam, driving a 1997 Chevy K-2500. Police say Downing fell asleep on a curve in the roadway, taking down a utility pole and wires. No injuries were reported, but police issued Downing a written warning for failing to maintain the established lane.
LARCENY OF A COMPANY VAN - On Sept. 23, State Police were dispatched to a residence on Wiese Albert Road in Higganum to investigate a complaint of a missing work van from the driveway. The vehicle had been left parked overnight, unlocked and with keys in the center console. The van is described as a 2006 GMC cargo-van, white in color, with blue and green lettering on the vehicle reading 'M&O Corporation' and bearing CT registration plate 49C-B11. The case is under investigation.
SALE OR DELIVERY OF ALCOHOL TO A MINOR - On Sept. 23, the Connecticut State Police, Troop F in Westbrook received a complaint from the parent of a 17-year-old female, stating that a a male individual known by the nickname 'Rocky' had purchased and delivered a large bottle of 'Jim Beam' whiskey to the minor, expecting a monetary return. Upon further investigation, police were able to determine that 'Rocky' is also known as Ansar Rabbani, 41, of 206 Saybrook Road, Higganum. It was reported that Rabbani had allegedly met the teen outside the Durham Fairgrounds on the evening of September 22. Rabbani was issued a summons for sale and/or delivery of alcohol to a minor, and scheduled to appear for arraignment on 10/11/11 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES AND LARCENIES - On Sept. 26, the Haddam Resident Troopers' Office was called to investigate a burglary on Saybrook Road in Haddam. Unknown person(s) broke in through a side entrance door and stole a flat-screen TV and jewelry from the home, sometime between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Another residence located on Route 81 in Haddam was burglarized on the same day, sometime between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:20 p.m., and resulted in the theft of two flat-screen TV's, a laptop computer, four pellet air-guns, a men's watch, a digital camera, and a navigational GPS unit. Entrance to the second residence was gained through a rear window at the home. TWO-CAR MOTOR-VEHICLE ACCIDENT - On Sept. 27 at approximately 5:15 p.m., Henry Hajek, 50, of Higganum (no street address given) was traveling southbound in a 2003 Mercury Marquis on Route 9 in the area of Exit 3, in the left of two lanes. Albert Mozzochi, Jr., 68, of Rattling Valley Road, Deep River, was traveling in the same direction on the highway in a 2000 Chevy C-3500 truck, in the right of two lanes. Due to cones and construction patterns, Mozzochi attempted to merge into the left lane, but struck Hajek's vehicle in the process. Minor damage was caused to the vehicles, but both were able to be driven from the scene, according to police. No injuries were reported.
