On Feb. 14, steam from a broken hot water pipe at a residence on Tyler Woods Road was reported as inside smoke. The leak was isolated and the scene turned back over to the homeowner. That same day, an electric dryer venting into an unfinished room at an Old County Road home set off a fire alarm. The house was vented and metered.

On Feb. 24, Haddam provided station coverage for Killingworth as it assisted the North Madison Volunteer Fire Company at two house fires that occurred within minutes of each other.

On Feb. 28, one person was taken to Middlesex Hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a two-car head-on collision on Route 154 in front of Haddam Elementary School.

Haddam Fire asks any residents who didn’t install fresh batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors when they “sprung ahead” on March 7 to please do so now.

The Fire Company welcomed Joshua Meyer as a new probationary member.

Drills/Community Service
Drills included Search-and-Rescue and members shoveled out water tanks and standpipes around the community.
