Community Outreach
On July 23, Haddam Firefighter Jay Selmer visited Brainerd Memorial Library in Middletown as part of the library’s Summer Reading Programs for Children and Teens. This year’s theme (for preschool children to 6th grade) is “Every Hero Has a Story.”

On July 20, Haddam Fire members participated in a SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) drill inside its new training facility. East Haddam Fire Department hosted a tanker shuttle drill on July 21. This drill included support from the surrounding mutual aid towns of Haddam, East Hampton, Haddam Neck and Lyme, which committed a total of five engines, four tankers and one ladder truck.
Congratulations to two members of the Junior Fire Company, Charlie Kowal and EJ Adametz, who received their graduation certificates for successfully completing Connecticut Fire Academy’s Introduction to the Fire Service program.

Appointment /New Member
Firefighter Dan Sullivan has been appointed to fill a vacant Captain’s position and Nick Ouellette was sworn in as a member of the Juniors, joining his older brother Zack.
Photo Exhibit
Haddam Volunteer Fire Company’s Olivia Drake is one of 15 photographers featured at an exhibit opening at The Fire Museum in Manchester. The exhibit, a collaboration with the Connecticut Fire Photographers Association, showcases 129 pieces by fire photographers from Connecticut and Massachusetts. The museum, located at 230 Pine Street, is open from noon to 4 p.m. every Friday and Saturday through Nov. 14.
