In Support of Mark Walter and Emmett Lyman

Mark Walter and Emmett Lyman made a couple of BIG promises 4 years ago.  The first was to reduce the rate of growth in Town Government spending and the second was to protect and preserve East Haddam's rural character.

It is so refreshing to see politicians honor their commitments from a campaign.  Not only did the Walter/Lyman team reduce the rate of growth, they actually CUT spending in 2 of their 4 budgets!  This is the first time this has happened in this town looking back at town budgets over 30 years.

Furthermore, at a time where the US federal debt was downgraded, the credit rating of East Haddam was raised under their leadership, lowering our bowering costs.

In addition, Mark Walter and Emmett Lyman aggressively supported the purchase of almost 1,000 acres of open space to preserve this town's rural character.

Lastly, the Walter/Lyman team has been incredibly bi-partisan bringing both Republicans and Democrats together on key issues in the budget, education, business development, etc.  Imagine that, politicians with different view points working together for the best interest of the town!

I appreciate the sound leadership of Mark Walter and Emmet Lyman and humbly ask my friends, neighbors and other voters to seriously consider these points when they cast their votes November 8^th.
