Election Day ... Midday Update

Polling stations are open till 8 p.m.; check back with Patch throughout the day for updates!

2:45 p.m. Update: Sunny skies and mild weather made for a good voter turnout in both Haddam and East Haddam. As of 12:15 p.m., saw nearly 1,000 voters or 200 on average per hour. In , nearly a third of the town's registered voters turned out to vote by midday, many bringing their entire family with them to the polls.

Check back this evening as final numbers come in and Patch announces the election results.

Original Story: It’s a municipal election year, which means voters will head to the polls to select their town councils, boards of selectmen, boards of education and other various boards and commissions. Some cities and towns will also be electing their chief executive officer today, either a mayor or first selectman, and other towns also have referendum questions on their ballots.

Voting takes place for Haddam at the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company Station #1 Community Hall, 439 Saybrook Road in Higganum and the Haddam Neck Volunteer Fire Company, 50 Rock Landing Road in Haddam Neck.
