Killingworth Subway Robbed at Gunpoint, Cops Say

State Police are asking the public for assistance to solve this crime.

On Thursday at about 1:45 p.m., Troopers from Troop F-Westbrook and Detectives from the Central District Major Crime Squad responded to the Subway sandwich shop in Killingworth (184 Route 81) for a reported armed robbery that had just occurred, State Police said in a press release Friday.

Initial investigation revealed that a white male wearing a black ski mask, black hoodie, and black pants entered the Subway brandishing a black pistol and demanded money from the employee at the register.

The Subway employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and then the male suspect fled the store on foot in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported.

Surrounding police departments were notified of the incident and State Police K9 teams conducted a search of the area. Troopers and Detectives are in the process of securing video surveillance from the surrounding businesses.
