Labor Day 2016 DUI Checkpoints and Extra Patrols in Connecticut: When and Where

Connecticut State Police will focus on keeping the roads safe and free of speeding, distracted and intoxicated drivers this Labor Day weekend.

“Troopers will utilize both traditional and nontraditional state police vehicles on the roads searching for reckless and intoxicated drivers,” said Trooper First Class Kelly Grant, police spokeswoman. “Troopers will man sobriety checkpoints, increase roving patrols and utilize the State Police Breath Alcohol Testing Mobile Unit (BAT Mobile).”

Those arrested for DUI can have an ignition interlock device placed on their vehicles for the first offense.
Anyone who witnesses a suspected drunk driver is encouraged to contact 911. (For a full list of extra patrols in Connecticut and planned DUI checkpoints see below).

Police are also focusing on the safety of the half a million students heading back to school across the state. Motorists must stop for school buses that have activated flashing red lights. The fine for passing a school bus is $465.
