Lake Hayward Burglary Suspects Apprehended, More Arrests Expected

East Haddam Police arrest two individuals in connection with theft of copper piping from buildings.

 

After a lengthy investigation of several burglaries into cottages in the Lake Hayward section of town, East Haddam Resident Trooper Jeff Rhoades reports that two individuals have been arrested in connection to these incidents.

Stephen Dente, 22, of 12 Alexander Road, East Haddam was arrested and charged with six counts of 3rd-degree burglary, six counts of 6th-degree larceny, and six counts of 1st-degree criminal mischief.

A second suspect, William Doyle, 24, of 126 Longwood Drive, East Haddam was also arrested and charged with six counts of 3rd-degree burglary, six counts of 6th-degree larceny, and six counts of 1st-degree criminal mischief.

Several homes were broken into over the past few months, and copper piping had been cut and removed from the residences.

Both men were held on bonds totaling $300,000 each and are next scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 1/18/12.

TFC Rhoades stated that more arrests are expected in the near future.
