Local Residents Recognized for Academic Excellence from MxCC

Three Haddam residents and one Killingworth resident were among 25 Middlesex Community College students to receive academic achievement awards for earning the highest grade point average (GPA) in their field of study. Mary Lou Cooke of Higganum received an award for Digital Arts/Multimedia, Emily Merriam of Haddam received an award for Social Science, Peter Woolard of Haddam received an award for Engineering Science, and James Johnson of Killingworth received an award for Criminal Justice. Faculty and supporters gathered in the College’s new Pavilion at Founder’s Hall on April 24 to celebrate this achievement and encourage the continued success of each graduate.
