Man Drowns in Connecticut River

A 33-year-old Middletown man drowned late Sunday in the Connecticut River after jumping off a boat with three others near Wethersfield Cove, according to the Hartford Courant.

Fatbardh Latifi disappeared in the water at 5:47 p.m., according to CBS Connecticut after those in the boat helped a woman who was struggling in the water, the Courant reports.

His body was discovered four hours later through a coordinated rescue effort by Glastonbury, Hartford, East Hartford, Rocky Hill, state police and the U.S. Coast Guard.
