UPDATE: Man Trapped In Haddam Well Rescued
Firefighters rescue a man who fell into a well on High Street on Friday afternoon.
5:30 p.m. Update:
A man who fell 30 feet into a concrete well in Haddam that he was working on was rescued by the Middletown Fire Department's Below-Grade Rescue Team Friday.
The man, who is about 50 years old, was working on a concrete encased well on High Street when he slipped and fell about 30 feet into water up to his neck. He clung to the side of the well until help arrived.

According to Bob Norton Jr., the public relations liaison for the Haddam Volunteer Fire Co., Haddam firefighters secured the man to the side of the well with rope and called for the Below-Grade Rescue Team from Middletown. The Middletown rescue team provided below-grade air monitoring and air supply and extricated the victim.
The man spent a total of about an hour and a half in the well and suffered multiple injuries. He was taken by Haddam Ambulance to Middlesex Hospital for treatment.

Firefighters are working to extricate a man who fell into a well at a residence on High Street in Haddam early this afternoon.
According to Bob Norton Jr., the public relations liaison for the Haddam Volunteer Fire Co., the man fell approximately 35 to 50 feet into the well, and crews from the Haddam and Middletown fire departments are still trying to get him out.
The name of the man who fell into the well and the extent of his injuries have not been released.
