Man Who Stabbed Estranged Wife to Death in Chester Gets 35 Years

Judge calls John Belanger's actions "heinous, selfish and violent."

John Belanger, who broke into his estranged wife's home in Chester in February 2010 and stabbed her to death, was sentenced to 35 years in prison last week.

Belanger stabbed his wife, Bonnie MacKay Belanger, 23 times  after breaking into her house as she identified him as her attacker to a 911 operator.
