Missing K-9, Violation of Probation and Failure To Submit To Fingerprinting
East Haddam Police Activity Reports, June 29 - July 6

The East Haddam Police and The Connecticut State Police, Troop K, report the following incidents:
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS, TRAVELING UNREASONABLY FAST, AND REFUSING TO BE FINGERPRINTED - On June 29, at approximately 2:27 a.m., Old Saybrook Police arrested Olga Hartwick, 38, of 105 East Haddam-Colchester Turnpike, Moodus. Hartwick was processed and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond, and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court on 7/11/11.
FAILURE TO DRIVE A REASONABLE DISTANCE APART - On June 30, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Thomas Guerin, 46, no address given, while stopped at the intersection of Falls-Bashan Road and Great Hillwood Road in Moodus, was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Danielle Jacobs, 22, no address given. Police reported minor damage to the vehicles, and Jacobs was issued an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
LARCENY - On July 2, Paul Deckelman, Jr., 29, of 28 Main Street, East Hampton, was arrested based on a warrant for 4th-degree larceny. Deckelman was processed at Troop K without incident, and released on a $7,500 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on 7/21/11.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS - On July 2, at approximately 8:56 p.m., Todd Chase, 38, was stopped by police on Ridgewood Road in Moodus, and subsequently found to be under the influence. Chase was arrested and processed at Troop K, then later released on a $500 non-surety bond, and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown, on 7/13/11.
VIOLATION OF PROBATION AND FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT - On July 2, Christian Mock, 29, of 19 Ridgewood Road, was located at his home address by police and arrested for violation of probation, and later released on a $5,000 cash bond. On a separate warrant, he was charged with 2nd-degree failure to appear in court, and released on a $2,500 cash bond. Mock is scheduled to appear for both charges at Middlesex Superior Court on 7/19/11.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS AND OPERATING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENCE - On July 4, Michael Rode, 25, of 54 Morris-Hubbard Road, Higganum, was pulled over for questioning on Ray Palmer Road in East Haddam, as police were investigating a suspicious incident that had taken place in Colchester. Rode was subsequently found to be operating under the influence and arrested for DUI and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver's license. He was later released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and given a court date of 7/13/11 at Middlesex Superior Court.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS - On July 4, Tracy Gates, 27, of 16 Lakewood Road, East Hampton, was pulled over for questioning on Ray Palmer Road in East Haddam, as police were investigating a suspicious incident that had occurred in Colchester. Gates failed the standardized field sobriety tests, and was subsequently charged with DUI. She was processed and later released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court on 7/13/11.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF AND LARCENY - On July 4, the East Haddam Animal Control Officer reported to police that a chain-link fence at the East Haddam Dog Pound, located on Nichols Road in Moodus, had been damaged. A dog that was described as a tri-colored (mostly black & white) Border Collie mix was reported missing. TREE BRANCH vs.VEHICLE - On July 6, at approximately 6:10 p.m, Christopher Clark, 31, of Susan Circle, Portland, was traveling northbound on Route 149 in the area of the Salmon River Boat Launch, when a dead tree branch fell onto his vehicle. The Chevy C-1500 sustained damages to the front hood, windshield, roof, and left-side front and rear fenders. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was able to be driven from the scene.
