New Construction in Moodus Catches Fire

At 5:23 p.m. Monday evening, East Haddam fire crews were called to the scene of a home fire at 36 Grist Mill Road in Moodus. The fire started in a basement of a new home under construction. No one was reported as being home at the time.

Mutual aid for the fire was called in from the surrounding towns of Lyme, Haddam, Colchester-Hayward and East Hampton.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
