In girls volleyball, East Haddam's Little Noises hosted North Branford's T-Birds, Monday night in East Haddam.
The Little Noises jumped all over the T-Birds, taking the first set handily. Hale-Ray's Makayla Keith provided sets to Autumn Sanders, Mary Martin and Kristen Wicander who all worked hard to get past North Branford’s Kayla Nowak and Rachel Funaro. In the second round, North Branford experienced more of the same aggressive net and service action from Hale-Ray.. Hale-Ray took that set, 25-9.
With a comfortable lead in the third set, Hale-Ray suddenly found themselves giving up points as North Branford, with improved returns, started closing the gap. After re-establishing their composure, Hale-Ray overcame the brief slump to finish the set 25-15. The Noises left the court with a 3-0 win.
