Route 148 Closures
For two months this summer, you will not be able to drive all the way from Route 79 to Route 81 on Route 148, as CT DOT replaces three small bridges. However, Route 148 will be closed for only one project at a time. It will not be closed for its entire length at any time.

The first of three road closures will take place starting on June 22nd for about one week, just west of the intersection with Schnoor Road/Lovers Lane. Weather permitting, that location should be open again by July 1.
The second closure will take place once the first is completed. It will be about one quarter mile east of the intersection with Route 79, just west of Blue Hills Road. That closure will last about 3 weeks.

The third closure will be about 1.9 miles southeast of Route 79, between Bunker Hill Road and Little City Road. This is expected to be a 4-week closure.
The official detour is on state roads, but you are free to use local roads as convenient.
