ID Released in Fatal Old Saybrook Accident: UPDATE

Police said the victim was hit by a vehicle traveling at night.

OLD SAYBROOK, CT – A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed Tuesday night, according to media reports.

The victim has been identified as 89-year old Edwin Roscoe, NBC Connecticut reported. The incident had occurred on Maple Avenue shortly after 8 p.m.

Police said the vehicle was traveling south near Cambridge Court West, according to the Middletown Press. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the accident.

Emergency crews worked to save the victim’s life while at the scene, the Middletown Press reported. The person was then rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
