A red truck heading northbound on Town Street (route 82), in East Haddam flipped over onto its side when the driver hit the embankment while navigating a sharp curve on Thursday evening. A witness driving directly behind the vehicle said "the truck just veered off up the embankment and flipped over right in front of me." The driver of the vehicle exited through an open window on the passenger side. He appeared dazed, but uninjured, as he began collecting the items that fell out of the truck when it overturned. There were no other passengers in the car at the time. 911 was called and the East Haddam Volunteer Fire Department and police vehicles arrived on the scene within minutes of the accident. The accident was cleared away and the vehicle towed by 7:30pm.
