Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Motor-Vehicle vs. Guardrail

Haddam area police activity reports.

The Haddam Resident Troopers' office and the Connecticut State Police, Troop F, report the following incidents:

WOMAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSING DRUG PARAPHERNALIA IN A SCHOOL ZONE: On July 25 at 11:34 a.m., Jule Facius, 23, of Schoolhouse Lane, Middle Haddam, was driving along Rapallo Avenue in Middletown where she was stopped by Middletown Police. While Facius was looking for her insurance, the officer saw a small cellophane bag mixed in with her paperwork. Police said she admitted, at the time, to a hypodermic needle, metal spoon with residue and empty heroin bags in her purse, along with other miscellaneous items. Additionally, the registration plate didn’t belong on the car and the license was expired. Facius was released and scheduled to appear in Middlesex Superior Court on 9/2/11.

HADDAM WOMAN FOUND WITH DRUG PARAPHERNALIA — On Aug. 1, during a motor vehicle stop on Main Street in Middletown, Leila Karst, 19, of Beaver Meadow Road, Haddam, was found by Middletown Police with a glass tube with a charred end and two hypodermic needles. Police said she admitted the needles were for heroin. Karst was released on a promise to appear and given a court date of 8/12/11 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

MOTOR-VEHICLE vs. GUARDRAIL - On Aug. 9 at 11:13 a.m., Brian Dill, 19, of Joe Williams Road, Moodus, was traveling southbound on Route 154 (Saybrook Road) in Haddam, in a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Dill lost control of the vehicle and veered into the northbound travel lane, striking a wire rope guardrail and several mailboxes. Police said no injuries were reported, but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
