Relay For Life of Haddam-Killingworth

On June 21 – 22, the 8th Annual Relay For Life of Haddam-Killingworth was held at the HK High School track. The weather was beautiful, the participation outstanding, and the event successful.  We honored our community’s cancer survivors during the Survivor Celebration and we remembered our loved ones lost during the moving Luminaria Ceremony. This event would not have been possible without the support of both communities as well as the many wonderful volunteers.

A new addition to the usual Relay fun was the Lap Champion Challenge. In conjunction with Team PCI Medical, the Relay committee offered trophies to both the individual and the team who walked or ran the most laps during the event. The team trophy was won by Kendra’s Karegivers, captained by cancer survivor Kendra Giulini. Awarding the individual trophy came down to the final lap. The winner was Dominic Anziano who completed 130+ laps. Congratulations to both Dominic & Kendra’s Karegivers.
