
The Board of Selectmen will meet tonight at 7 p.m., at the Station 1 Firehouse on Saybrook Road in Higganum.
The board will hear a report from officials with Regional School District 17. The board also will discuss the proposed new municipal transfer station. The transfer station is being planned as part of a state order to close the town’s landfill. Bidding for the construction of the new station is planned for this summer, with construction beginning in the fall. The completion deadline, under the Department of Environmental Protection’s consent order deadline, is July of 2012.
