Several Residential Burglaries, Stolen ATV, Vandalism, Criminal Mischief, Interfering with an Emergency Call and Assault

East Haddam area police activity reports.

 

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K report the following incidents:


ASSAULT, DISORDERLY CONDUCT AND INTERFERING WITH AN EMERGENCY CALL - On Feb. 27th at 7:30 a.m., Scott Latronica, 29, of 215 East Haddam-Colchester Turnpike, East Haddam turned himself in to East Hampton police and was arrested and charged with the above violations, related to a 1/24/12 domestic violence incident. Latronica was held on a $10,000 bond and presented later that morning to Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

EVADING RESPONSIBILITY - On Feb 28th at 3:15 p.m., Sarah Peckham, 38, of 30 Babcock Road, East Haddam was located at her home by East Hampton Police and issued a summons for the above violation. Police report that she had allegedly knocked over a group of mailboxes with her vehicle. Peckham was given a court date of 3/7/12 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT - On March 3rd at 2:10 p.m., Christian Mock, 30, of 19 Ridgewood Road, Moodus turned himself in to Troop K based on two warrants for 2nd-degree failure to appear in court. Mock was held on bonds totaling $15,000 and scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court in Norwich on 3/5/12.

LARCENY AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - On March 5th at 8:47 a.m., a Schulman-Veselak Road, East Haddam resident reported to police that a window on his vehicle had been shattered, and unknown person(s) had entered and removed unspecified items. The case is under investigation.

BURGLARY AND LARCENY - On March 5th at 9:31 a.m., East Haddam Police were called to a Ballahack Road, East Haddam residence. A homeowner reported that his garage had been entered, and unspecified items were taken from one of his vehicles. Anyone who may have information that could help police with this investigation is asked to contact Corporal Karl Karabeinikoff at the East Haddam Police Department at 860-873-1226.

BURGLARY, LARCENY AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - On March 5th at 3:53 p.m., State Police were dispatched to a Lakeside Drive, East Haddam address, to investigate one of several seasonal residences that had been broken into in the area. A window had been damaged, and an engraved collector's edition pocket watch was reported stolen from the home.

FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT - On March 5th at 4:40 p.m., Margarita Robida, 22, of 370 Mount Parnassus Road, East Haddam was arrested pursuant to a PRAWN (Paperless Re-Arrest Warrant Network) warrant for 2nd-degree failure to appear in court. Robida was held on a $2,500 cash bond and given a court date of 3/6/12 at Norwich Superior Court in Norwich. 

MULTIPLE BURGLARIES AND LARCENIES - On March 5th at 5:48 p.m., East Haddam police were dispatched to Lakeside Drive, East Haddam in the Sunset Acres Association area, to begin investigations into several residential burglaries. The incidents were all believed to have occurred during the overnight hours of March 4th to March 5th. VIOLATION OF PROBATION AND FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT - On March 5th at 8:00 p.m., Joshua Hall, 24, of 29 Stony Brook Drive, East Haddam turned himself in to Troop K based on two warrants for violation of probation, one warrant for 1st-degree failure to appear in court and one warrant for 2nd-degree failure to appear in court. Hall was held on bonds totaling $45,000 and scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court in Norwich on 3/6/12.

BURGLARY - On March 6th at 3:48 p.m., State Police were called to a Bashan Road, East Haddam address for a report of a break-in. Unknown person(s) were able to gain entry through a window located in the back of the residence. Police were unable to identify anything missing or stolen, but the case remains under investigation. Anyone with possible information is asked to contact the Connecticut State Police, Troop K at 860-537-7500.

ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE STOLEN AND RECOVERED - On March 6th at 4:09 p.m., state police reported that a 2003 Polaris Predator had been stolen, then later recovered in the Hartford area by Hartford police. The owner of the vehicle told police that they had last seen the ATV secured to a tree in the front of their residence on Falls-Bashan Road in East Haddam on March 5th at approximately 7:00 p.m. The license plate for the vehicle (CT registration # G8-392) remains unaccounted for, according to the report.
