UPDATE: East Haddam Community Not Giving up the Search
The search for missing East Haddam resident, Robert Masci continues into the weekend. Volunteers are being asked to visit the town's website for information at www.easthaddam.org.

East Haddam residents remained hopeful, as search and rescue efforts continued in full force Thursday for Robert Masci, the local East Haddam man who has been missing since late Tuesday afternoon.
A steady stream of volunteers continued to pour into the command center, in operation at the East Haddam Firehouse, Company #2 on William F. Palmer Road in Moodus since Masci was reported missing. Friends and neighbors, as well as professional search teams, police and fire personnel have all worked diligently in the widespread areas of town throughout the past 3 days.

The town’s Senior Bus was used to shuttle the volunteers to specific search areas that had been meticulously mapped out and organized at the firehouse. Walking search crews were deployed, along with searchers on horseback. Over eighty residents aided in today's search.
Dan Roschko, a volunteer from the Chester Hose Company, was out with his fire department's all-terrain vehicle, searching with crews throughout wooded areas all day long. "We started at about 9:00 a.m. and have been out searching numerous locations all over town that are tough to reach on foot," he said.

East Haddam Emergency Management Director, Craig Mansfield stated, "the search is on-going, and at this point it is undetermined as to how long it will continue."
"People who are interested in volunteering over the weekend, on Saturday or Sunday, can log onto the town's website during the day on Friday at www.easthaddam.org for details and more information," he said.
Bob Masci is a 68-year-old white male described as being 6 ft tall and weighing 180 lbs. He is bald on the top of his head with brown hair on the sides and was last seen wearing blue jeans, grey sneakers and a bright aqua colored sweatshirt. Bob also wears glasses.
Masci was reported missing by his wife after he did not return home from an afternoon walk and is said to have a mild case of dimentia.
