Weapons in a Motor-Vehicle,Threatening, Breach of Peace and Burglary
East Haddam area police activity reports.

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K report the following incidents:
BURGLARY AND LARCENY - On Wednesday, Aug. 17, sometime after dark, unknown person(s) entered a residence and a car parked in the driveway at a Dolbia Hill Road address. An undisclosed amount of money was reported stolen and police are investigating.
FAILURE TO DRIVE A REASONABLE DISTANCE APART - On Aug. 24 at approximately 8:10 a.m., Craig Delecke, 31, of Town Street, Moodus was traveling southbound on Route 151 (Town Street) just north of Orchard Road in East Haddam in a 2004 Jeep Liberty. Larry Thompson, 47, of Bryant Road, East Hampton was traveling behind Delecke in a 2003 Chevy Venture. As Delecke slowed down for a vehicle in front of him, Thompson was unable to stop in time and struck Delecke's vehicle. No injuries were reported, but police issued Thompson a written warning for following too closely.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS - On Aug. 26 at approximately 10:00 a.m., Jeremy Baldwin, 34, of 23 New Lane, Cromwell, was arrested in East Haddam and charged with DUI and failure to drive upon the right. Baldwin was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and given a court date of 9/5/11 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.
TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS - On Aug. 26 at approximately 5:50 p.m., Brian Sanchez, 48, of Main Street, Rocky Hill was traveling southbound on Beebe Road in East Haddam in a 1994 Ford Ranger when he lost control of his vehicle while trying to negotiate a sharp curve, leaving the roadway and striking a tree. Sanchez was reported to be uninjured, but the vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and had to be towed from the scene. Police issued Sanchez infractions for traveling too fast for conditions and operating a motor vehicle with an ineffective braking system.
THREATENING - On Aug. 27 at approximately 10:45 a.m., Ross Cieniewicz, 46, of 160 Daniel Peck Road, East Haddam, was arrested and charged with the above. Cieniewicz was later released on a written promise to appear.
MAKING AN UNSAFE TURN - On Aug. 27 at approximately 1:08 p.m., Tyler Clark, 18, of Knoll Road, Moodus, was traveling northbound on Route 149 in Moodus in a 2003 Dodge Dakota. Priscilla Pitts, 18, of Brush Hill Road, Lyme, driving a 1999 Ford (?), was attempting a left-hand turn onto Route 149 from the 7-11 convenience store when she struck the passenger side of Clark's vehicle. No injuries were reported. Police issued Pitts a written warning for making an unsafe left-hand turn.
WEAPONS IN A MOTOR-VEHICLE, THREATENING, AND BREACH OF PEACE - On Aug. 27 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Jeffrey Grant, 26, of 179 Smith Road, East Haddam, was arrested and charged with the above after it had been reported to police that he had allegedly aimed a pellet gun at several people in a parking lot in the area of Routes 16 and 149 in Westchester. Grant was processed and released without incident on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court in Norwich on 9/8/11.
