$1 Million Fentanyl Brick Seized In Old Lyme: PD

The brick was taken during a traffic stop.

OLD LYME, CT — State Police seized a one kilogram brick of fentanyl worth about $1 million after a traffic stop on I-95, police said.

Police made a stop near exit 70 on Sept. 13. Detectives learned that the vehicle operated by Gabri Darlin Javier-Delapaz possibly contained illegal narcotics, police said.

Both Javier-Delapaz and passenger Alcides Rafael Gomez-Alba gave consent for the vehicle to be searched. K-9 Hogan searched the Honda and the brick of fentanyl was found.

Both men were taken into custody. Javier-Delapaz, 26, of Providence, RI was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and was held on a $500,000 bond. Gomez-Alba, 28, of Providence was charged with the same.
