OLD LYME, CT — Condolences are extended to the family and friends of those who have recently died.
Cynthia Grimes Green, 68, died Aug. 1. She worked as an instructional assistant at Mile Creek School for 30 years. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Donnie Green, two daughters and three grandchildren.
Jane Webb D'Arista, 94, died July 4. She worked as a staff economist for the U.S. House Banking and Commerce Committees, later serving as an analyst at the Congressional Budget Office and an instructor at Boston University School of
Law. She published two books on financial regulation and monetary policy, including "All Fall Down: Debt, Deregulation and Financial Crises." She is survived by four children and a brother.
Richard Philip "Dick" van Etten, 95, died June 17. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany after World War II. He worked in the family business, Van Etten Oil, and later in insurance as an agent for Fred Durland Insurance and owner of the Durland-Van Etten Agency. He is survived by his wife of more than 70
years, Geraldine "Jeri" van Etten, and four children.
Rosalyn E. Teachworth, 74, died June 14. The obituary described her as having "a remarkable gift for growing things" and noted her lifelong dedication to animal care and rescue. She is survived by two daughters, a stepson, five grandchildren and a brother.
