Man Charged In Stolen Car Case, East Lyme Police Say

EAST LYME, CT — A man was charged in a stolen vehicle case in East Lyme, according to police.

Police received a Flock camera notification Wednesday regarding a white Nissan Altima that had been reported stolen.

The car was driving eastbound on West Main Street at the time.

Police dispatchers then worked to confirm that the car was in fact stolen.

Officers stopped the car on Flanders Road. Phillip Schleicher, 37, of Montville, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree larceny.

Police recovered the stolen car and returned it to the owner.

Police credited the Flock camera in the case.

"This is another example of technology providing our officers with timely information that can help them locate stolen vehicles and take wanted individuals into custody," police wrote. "Flock is one of several tools available to the East Lyme Police Department to help keep our community safe. Our officers and dispatchers remain committed to using every appropriate resource available to protect our residents and recover property when it is stolen."
