OLD LYME, CT — Old Lyme's Zoning Commission holds a hearing on turning a Shore Road building into a funeral home, the Zoning Board of Appeals takes up several coastal rebuilds, and Lyme's registrars hold a voter session Friday.

1. Hearing On Funeral Home At 100 Shore Road
When: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Meeting Room, Memorial Town Hall, 52 Lyme St., Old Lyme
What to know: Old Lyme's Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing and may decide on a special permit to convert the building at 100 Shore Road into a funeral home, according to the agenda; Antanna Realty LLC is the applicant. Commissioners will also review a survey on Phase 2 of the zoning regulation rewrite, get housing updates under Public Act 25-1, and hear an informal pre-application discussion from Lyme-Old Lyme Little League about projects at Cross Lane and Town Woods parks.

2. ZBA Weighs Coastal Rebuilds, Excavation Permit Appeal
When: Thursday, Oct. 15, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Meeting Hall, Memorial Town Hall, 52 Lyme St., Old Lyme
What to know: Old Lyme's Zoning Board of Appeals will hear requests to replace a home at 72 Columbus Ave. with a FEMA-compliant house in a coastal high hazard flood zone, to elevate and move a home at 25 Champion Road in a VE-14 flood zone, and to replace homes at 88 Rogers Lake Trail and 20 Stanhope Ave., according to the agenda. It will also continue an appeal of the zoning enforcement officer's renewal of an excavation permit at 308-1 Mile Creek Road.

3. Lyme Voter Registration Session
When: Friday, Oct. 16, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Lyme Town Hall, 480 Hamburg Road, Lyme
What to know: Lyme's registrars will register voters in person in time for the Nov. 3 election, according to the town.

4. 2027 Medicare Changes Seminar
When: Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1 to 2 p.m.
Where: Dining Room, Lymes' Senior Center, 26 Town Woods Road, Old Lyme
What to know: The senior center is hosting a seminar on 2027 Medicare changes, according to the Old Lyme calendar. It's free for members and $10 for nonmembers; register through the senior center at 860-434-1605, ext. 241.

5. Old Lyme Town Hall, Transfer Station Holiday Closings
When: Monday, Oct. 12, and Tuesday, Oct. 13
Where: Memorial Town Hall, 52 Lyme St., Old Lyme
What to know: Old Lyme Town Hall is closed Monday for the federal holiday, and the Transfer Station is closed Monday as usual and Tuesday for the holiday, according to the town. Trash and recycling pickup is on its usual schedule.
