Armed Robbery Suspect Captured In East Lyme: PD
Stop sticks were used to disable the suspect's vehicle.

EAST LYME, CT — East Lyme Police helped apprehend an armed robbery suspect who led police on a multi-town pursuit Aug. 28.
State Police Troop F were notified that New Haven officers were in pursuit of the suspect who was in a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was heading northbound on I-95 in the area of exit 56 in Branford.
An Old Saybrook officer deployed stop sticks that deflated a tire. The pursuit then continued into Old Lyme where more stop sticks were deployed and deflated two more tires, State Police said.
Eventually the vehicle was disabled in East Lyme.
George Lopez, 23, of East Haven was arrested and charged with reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit, second-degree larceny and other crimes.
