Body Found In Connecticut River In Lyme, Officials Say

The body is that of an adult male and appears to have been in the water for an extended period of time, officials said.

LYME, CT — A body was discovered in the Connecticut River on Saturday, state officials said.

At 1 p.m. Saturday, a vessel reported seeing a body in the Connecticut River in the area of the Chester-Lyme ferry.

EnCon Police responded, along with the CT State Police Major Crimes unit and the Lyme and Chester fire departments.

They recovered the body, which was taken into custody by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The COME will determine the cause and manner of death. EnCon Police are investigating. There is no threat to the public.
