Bringing a Dish to Pass: Turkey Chili
The Holiday Season Means Gatherings with Friends & Family. What Are You Bringing?

The holiday season is upon us. I love this time of year! It’s a wonderful time to socialize with friends and catch up with family.
Inevitably, you’ll find yourself attending a potluck or an event where you’ve been asked to bring a dish to pass. With this foolproof turkey chili recipe, you’ll never be left scrambling for ideas.
And the best part... it tastes amazing, but it won’t leave you packing on those holiday pounds. I’ve made some simple substitutions so that it’s healthier without sacrificing flavor. Here are some highlights that make this recipe my “go to” for entertaining:

- Use fresh, Organic Tomatoes and Dried Beans in place of canned (Avoid BPA, an estrogen-mimicking compound in the lining of metal cans) No time to soak and simmer? Use BPA free brands like Eden in a bind.
- Replace beef with Organic Ground Turkey (Reduce saturated fat and avoiding antibiotics, etc.)
- Cooked low and slow in the Slow Cooker (So it’s ready when you are and to avoid carcinogenic PAHs)
- Use Low-Sodium Tamari (A Gluten-Free alternative that doesn’t have excess salt)
- Replace canned broth with Filtered Water and Healthy Bouillon Cubes like Rapunzel (Avoid MSG and other additives common in broths)
Want to spice things up even more? Bring some healthy toppings along in festive bowls to accompany this dish. My favorites include:
Shredded Organic Cheese
