Fundraiser Comedy Show to Benefit The Campaign for Safe Futures.  In support of the domestic violence, trafficking, stalking abuse survivors, Safe Future services are FREE. Breaking ground in the spring, the Center will house a multi-agency campus, offering a safe place for those seeking help.  Join us to help fund this monumental project.  Can you imagine how comforting it will feel for the survivors to walk through just one door and be surrounded in support? Help us pack the room and have a few laughs for a very serious mission. BUY your tickets now. $35 per person, includes a charcuterie board at each table. Cash bar on site. Doors open at 6:00 pm. General Admission, but reservations for tables of 8 can be requested upon ticket purchase. The Duck River Garden Club of Old Lyme and East Lyme Annual Mother's Day Plant Sale is a much anticipated and loved event. This year the sale&nbsp; will held be at the Lyme Art Association at 90 Lyme St. Old Lyme. Shoppers will enjoy browsing our wide variety of annuals, vegetables and herbs, native pollinators, geraniums and our popular hanging baskets. One of the highlights of the sale is the Member's Plant Area featuring plants from our members' own gardens. Proceeds from the sale support the club's scholarships for Old Lyme and East Lyme, civic beautification for sites in both towns, public education programs, and senior programming.&nbsp; Sale dates are: Friday, May 8, 12-6 pm and Saturday, May 9, 9 am-1pm

The Lyme Art Association (LAA) is delighted to announce its annual Spring Soiree, to be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at its historic gallery at 90 Lyme Street in Old Lyme.
A highlight of the spring season, the Spring Soiree brings together artists, collectors, and friends of the arts for an elegant and festive evening in support of one of the nation’s oldest arts organizations. Guests will enjoy live jazz by the Steve Donovan Trio, exceptional cuisine by Gourmet Galley, and lively conversation within LAA’s landmark 1921 gallery building.
The evening’s silent auction will feature Spring Forays, a luminous still life by acclaimed LAA artist Kelli Folsom. Folsom, a frequent award-winner at the Lyme Art Association, is known for her expressive brushwork and vibrant use of color, capturing the freshness and vitality of the natural world.
A highlight of the evening will be the Spring Soiree Experience Raffle, featuring a selection of curated, art-inspired getaway packages. Destinations include the Berkshires, the Hudson Valley, New York City, coastal Rhode Island, and the Connecticut shoreline, with offerings that include museum access, cultural experiences, and stays at distinctive properties such as The Porches Inn, The Wick Hotel, Moxy Lower East Side, and 41° North. Raffle tickets will be available for $20 each.
Event tickets are $85 per person.
Proceeds from the Spring Soiree directly support LAA’s exhibitions, educational programming, and stewardship of its historic gallery. Founded more than a century ago as part of the Old Lyme Art Colony, the Lyme Art Association remains a vibrant cultural destination and a champion of representational art in Connecticut and beyond.

The Lyme Art Association (LAA) will host its inaugural Swing for Art Pickleball Tournament on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Mystic Indoor Sports, bringing together players for a lively day of competition in support of the arts.
This new fundraising event invites advanced beginner through advanced players to participate in a fun and spirited tournament while supporting one of the region’s most historic arts organizations. The event will feature organized match play across skill levels, along with raffle prizes and opportunities for community engagement.
“Pickleball is such a dynamic and social sport, and we’re excited to create an event that brings people together while supporting the arts,” said Elsbeth Dowd, Executive Director of the Lyme Art Association. “Swing for Art is a wonderful way for players to connect, compete, and contribute to something meaningful.”
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Lyme Art Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to exhibiting and preserving representational art and providing arts education to the community. Funds raised will support exhibitions, educational programming, and the continued vitality of LAA’s historic building in Old Lyme.

This summer in celebration of the United States’ 250th&nbsp;birthday, the Lyme Art Association is having a special art show, titled&nbsp;A Connecticut History, which honors, questions, and illuminates the distinguished stories, people and places that continue to shape Connecticut’s identity. Show is on view June 5-July 17.&nbsp;A Connecticut History&nbsp;consists of landscapes, portraits, still lifes, and sculpture related to the history and identity of Connecticut. It includes traditional &amp; historical scenes, contemporary reinterpretations, plus conceptual approaches to depicting the state’s people, places and stories in order to create a show that honors tradition, reflects change, and offers fresh and illuminating perspectives on what defines and shapes Connecticut’s identity.&nbsp;&nbsp;Running concurrently is the Hudson Valley Art Association (HVAA)’s&nbsp;93rd Annual Juried Exhibition. This show aims to preserve and encourage the knowledge, craftsmanship and respect for form, color and design, which are distinguishing elements in fine art painting and sculpture. HVAA’s annual exhibition at LAA includes oils, aqua media, pastels, graphics, and sculpture.&nbsp;Lastly, come appreciate the creativity of young artists, ages 5-18, in&nbsp;My Town.&nbsp;Inspired by Connecticut’s rich history,&nbsp;My Town&nbsp;encourages young artists to explore what makes their community unique by depicting its people, places and culture, through artwork that is realistic, imaginative, or personal.&nbsp;My Town’s&nbsp;awards ceremony is June 20 at 11 am. June 20 is also&nbsp;Family Day at LAA, which features fun art activities for all ages, and live music performed by Kipp Sturgeon, and the Wandering Fiddlers.&nbsp;All shows are on view June 5-July 17. Opening reception for&nbsp;A Connecticut History&nbsp;and HVAA’s exhibit is Saturday, June 13 from 5-7pm.&nbsp;Founded in 1914 by the American Impressionists, the Lyme Art Association continues&nbsp;the tradition of exhibiting and selling representational artwork, as well as offering art&nbsp;instruction, lectures, and other community programs. It is located at 90 Lyme Street in&nbsp;Old Lyme, CT, in an iconic 1921 building designed by renowned architect Charles Adams&nbsp;Platt and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
