Car Stolen From Groton Recovered In East Lyme Lake

EAST LYME, CT — A car stolen from Groton City was recovered from Powers Lake in East Lyme on Tuesday evening, according to The New London Day. The 2018 Kia Forte was taken out of the lake around 5 p.m.

There was no body in the car, and police speculate that the driver got out of the car in the dirt launch area, put it in neutral, then let the vehicle roll into the lake.

The car been reported stolen at 4:16 a.m. Tuesday in Groton.
