EAST LYME, CT — A car was reported missing and a resident reported suspicious activity recently, according to East Lyme police. A resident of Beach Avenue in Niantic contacted police Wednesday to report that their car, a gray 2016 Audi, was missing from their driveway sometime after 10 p.m. the previous night.
On Tuesday, a resident of Society Road near I-95 called police to report that they saw a black SUV pull into their driveway. A person got out of the SUV and looked into the caller's vehicle.
The person then saw the caller and the vehicle fled. The victim's vehicle was not entered.

Police said in a statement: "We continue to urge all residents and visitors to always make sure that your parked vehicles remain locked, with key/fobs removed, and items of value taken out. Thank you for helping reduce the opportunities to become a victim."
