CT Foodshare is a regional food bank that serves Hartford and Tolland counties in Connecticut. This organization is the merger of Connecticut’s two largest anti-hunger nonprofits, Connecticut Foodbank and Foodshare. “The need continues to be great – but we are both proud and ready to serve the entire state as Connecticut Foodshare. This truly is our community… and our food bank,” said President & CEO Jason Jakubowski.

According to CT Foodshare, it is estimated that more than 119,000 people struggle with hunger in the Hartford and Tolland areas. They join 200 other food banks across the country as a part of the national organization Feeding AmericaHunger is more than just food. This means that Foodshare also partners with anti-hunger organizations, policy makers, and the broader CT community to build effective solutions. In collaboration with the food industry, donors, community leaders and volunteers, Foodshare helps to maximize access to healthy foods and other resources that support food security.

With more than an estimated 8,000 volunteers to help power the work of Connecticut Foodshare, they provided more than 62,000 hours of service from their volunteer base last year. They also host many different annual events, including a “Walk Against Hunger” every May and “Convoy of Caring” in September. With multiple opportunities to volunteer and donate, Connecticut Foodshare is a great organization to support this season of giving. Learn more about upcoming events and news.
