Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage East Lyme Office Hosts Holiday Toy Drive

The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in East Lyme is hosting the 5th annual Holiday Toy Drive to benefit Yale-New Haven Hospital’s Pediatric Unit.

New unwrapped toys will be accepted at the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office located at 132 Boston Post Road in East Lyme Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Donations will be accepted through Friday, December 11.

The Holiday Toy Drive continues in memory of Joseph Ray Allen, who passed away from an aggressive form of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2010. Allen was the brother of Donna Gaska, office administrator at the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in East Lyme. When he learned his illness was terminal, Allen took some of his life insurance money and bought hundreds of toys for children in the hospital, which brought him great joy during a very stressful time. The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in East Lyme continues Allen’s tradition by collecting toys for sick children.

“The holidays can be a difficult time for children dealing with health issues, especially if they are spending that time in the hospital,” said Nell Kleinhans, manager of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in East Lyme. “We invite our friends and neighbors in the community to donate a new, unwrapped toy and help us bring some joy to these children.”
