DEEP Finds No Evidence Of Coyote Poisoning In East Lyme Case: Report
The agency has ruled that there is no evidence of coyote poisoning after the body of a dead coyote pup was examined in a state lab.
EAST LYME, CT — The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has ruled that there is no evidence of coyote poisoning after the body of a dead coyote pup was examined in a state lab, according to The New London Day.
The DEEP said that scientists from the University of Connecticut's Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory found the young coyote's remains "unsuitable for diagnostic testing and interpretation" because of advanced decomposition.
The DEEP had requested the toxicology tests as part of an investigation after the coyote's body was discovered by a Niantic resident.
