Demolition Begins On Starlight Inn In East Lyme: Report
Demolition has begun on a former East Lyme motel.

EAST LYME, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation began demolition at the Starlight Inn motel on Flanders Road on Wednesday morning, The New London Day reported. The demolition is part of a $142 million I-95 exit 74 interchange project that includes removing the motel's two buildings as well as a restaurant and two other structures on the former Mobil property.
The area has previously had issues with crime. In 2020, police said they had responded to 354 calls for service and made 20 arrests on Flanders Road.
